Irreversible First Step
Do you struggle with taking that first step?
I oftentimes do…
I will start going in the right direction.
I will even start the project, but sadly, I have let fear or the lack of consistency stop me from pursuing the desires in my heart.
Do you ever find yourself doing the same thing?
I have learned that we must take that first step, even if it feels unbearably uncomfortable when it is risky… when we are scared… when we have no idea how it is going to work itself out…
These are the moment (I believe) that matter the most.
We must take that leap of faith.
Someone very close to me calls these moments, “irreversible first steps.” Once you take that first step you cannot take it back.
When you do it, it’s done.
One of the most recent irreversible first steps I took was applying to become a continuing education provider for massage therapy.
I had my business plan saved on a Word document on my computer for the longest time.
It must have been on my computer for more than 6 months before finally I got the nerve to print it out, sign the documents, and send it out by mail.
What was stopping me from sending my business plan in the mail earlier?
It was practically done.
Why hadn’t I taken that simple step?
The biggest reason (I believe) I was scared to apply was out of fear of what others thought about this step.
